Every Gladiator has the same 5 ft bed, so bed length is easy. The trap is Jeep's optional Trail Rail cargo system: some covers need different hardware or a different part number depending on whether your truck has it. All four picks below are listed for the Gladiator JT 5 ft bed with or without Trail Rail, under a single part number.

This guide is research-based. We read the manufacturer and retailer fitment listings for each cover and confirmed every part number on at least two of them. We have not installed these covers ourselves.

  • Trail Rail or not: check your bed for Jeep's factory rail system before ordering. Every pick here is listed for both, but some other covers (Extang's Solid Fold 2.0, for example) come in separate with and without Trail Rail versions.
  • Year ranges differ by seller. The same part number can be listed as 2020-2022 on one site and 2020-2026 on another. We quote the narrowest range we found.
  • Over-the-rail bedliners can get in the way of clamps. Check the cover's instructions if you have one.
  • Soft top owners: RealTruck's BAKFlip MX4 listing carries a "Not Recommended for Soft Tops" note. Ask the seller before ordering that one.

Best Overall: BAKFlip MX4 (448701)

The MX4 is BAK's hard folding cover, and 448701 is the Gladiator version. RealTruck (BAK's parent company) lists it for the 2020-2025 Gladiator 5 ft bed and says it is "Compatible on Models w/ or w/o Trail Rail." Rack Attack lists the same part for 2020-2026. We use the narrower 2020-2025 range. If you have a 2026, confirm with the seller.

BAK lists aluminum panels over a high-density core, an automatic latch that locks the cover when you close it, a 400 lb rating (evenly distributed), a no-drill clamp install it estimates at under 30 minutes, and a 5-year warranty. Folded, the stack sits against the cab and leaves the third brake light visible. RealTruck listed it at about $1,250 today.

Pros

  • One part number for trucks with or without Trail Rail
  • Auto-latch security
  • 400 lb distributed rating
  • 5-year warranty

Cons

  • About $1,250
  • RealTruck notes it is not recommended for soft tops
  • 2026 not listed by RealTruck yet

Hard Cover with Full Bed Access: BAK Revolver X4s (80701)

The Revolver X4s rolls up instead of folding: aluminum slats wrapped in vinyl roll toward the cab, so you get a hard cover and the whole bed when it is open. RealTruck lists 80701 for the 2020-2026 Gladiator 5 ft bed, with or without Trail Rail, and Rack Attack lists the same years.

BAK rates it at 400 lb distributed, with locking rails and a 5-year warranty (RealTruck's listing). The rolled-up cover sits at the front of the bed, which matters in a 5 ft bed. On the Gladiator forum, owners who recommend it say it gives up the least bed space of the covers they compared. Both listings showed about $1,480 today.

Pros

  • Full bed access from a hard cover
  • Listed through 2026
  • Works with or without Trail Rail
  • 400 lb distributed rating

Cons

  • The most expensive pick here, about $1,480
  • The roll takes some space at the bulkhead

Best Soft Folding Cover: Extang Trifecta 2.0 (92895)

The Trifecta 2.0 is a vinyl tri-fold on an aluminum frame, and it costs well under half what the BAK covers do. RealTruck lists 92895 for the 2020-2026 Gladiator 5 ft bed and says it "Works w/ or w/o Trail Rail." CSP Racing lists the same part for 2020-2027 with or without the rail system. We use 2020-2026.

It folds toward the cab for about two thirds of the bed, or comes off without tools for full access. Extang lists snap-on triple-fin seals and a limited lifetime warranty on the frame, clamps, hardware and vinyl. RealTruck listed it at about $520 today.

Pros

  • Confirmed with or without Trail Rail
  • Limited lifetime warranty
  • Removes in seconds without tools
  • About $520

Cons

  • Soft vinyl is less secure than a hard cover
  • About two thirds of the bed when folded
  • Not compatible with bed caps or toolboxes (CSP listing)

Best Soft Roll-Up: TruXedo Lo Pro (523201)

The Lo Pro is TruXedo's mainstream roll-up. It mounts inside the bed rails and sits about 3/4 inch above the bed, so it keeps a low profile. Two retailers list 523201 for the Gladiator 5 ft bed with or without Trail Rail. Their year ranges differ: Offroad Alliance lists 2020-2022, while TonneauCovered lists 2020-2026.

We report the narrower 2020-2022 range because that is what both sources agree on. If you have a 2023 or newer Gladiator, confirm the year with the seller before ordering. Both listings showed about $520 and a lifetime warranty.

Pros

  • Full bed access when rolled up
  • Low profile, mounts inside the rails
  • Keeps stake pockets usable
  • Lifetime warranty

Cons

  • Soft cover security
  • Year listings range from 2020-2022 to 2020-2026; confirm 2023+

How to Choose a Tonneau Cover for Your Gladiator

Step 1: Check for Trail Rail

Look along the inside of your bed walls for Jeep's factory rail system. All four picks above are listed for both cases. Other covers may not be: Extang, for example, sells the Solid Fold 2.0 as separate with and without Trail Rail parts. If a listing doesn't say "with or without Trail Rail," ask before buying.

Step 2: Match the model year to the listing

Since every Gladiator shares the 5 ft bed, model year is the only other variable. Covers often lag behind new model years in listings. The table shows the range we confirmed for each pick:

Your GladiatorPicks listed for your year
2020-2022All four
2023-2025BAKFlip MX4, Revolver X4s, Trifecta 2.0 (Lo Pro: confirm with seller)
2026Revolver X4s, Trifecta 2.0 (MX4 and Lo Pro: confirm with seller)

Step 3: Decide between hard and soft

A Gladiator bed is short and open, so security is the main reason to pay for a hard cover. If you keep tools or recovery gear in the bed, go with the MX4 or Revolver X4s. If you mostly want to keep weather and dust out, the Trifecta 2.0 or Lo Pro does that for well under half the price. Our tonneau cover types guide covers the trade-offs in more detail.

Step 4: Think about racks and overland gear

Many Gladiators carry bed racks, rooftop tents or drawer systems. A cover and a rack have to share the bed rails. Before you buy, read our bed rack and toolbox clearance guide.

Installation Notes

All four covers clamp on without drilling. BAK estimates under 30 minutes for the MX4 and under an hour for the Revolver X4s. On a Trail Rail truck, follow the instructions for the Trail Rail setup: the listings say these parts fit both setups, not that the steps are identical. After the first heavy rain or car wash, check the front (bulkhead) seal, then recheck clamp tension after a week of driving. Our no-drill install guide walks through the process.

FAQ

Will a tonneau cover work with the Gladiator Trail Rail system?

Many do, but check the listing. The BAKFlip MX4 (448701), Revolver X4s (80701), Trifecta 2.0 (92895) and TruXedo Lo Pro (523201) are listed for the Gladiator with or without Trail Rail. Some other covers are sold as separate with and without Trail Rail versions.

What tonneau covers fit a 2024 or newer Gladiator?

Of our picks, the BAKFlip MX4 is listed through 2025, and the Revolver X4s and Trifecta 2.0 through 2026. Some sellers list the TruXedo Lo Pro through 2026 and others only through 2022, so confirm before you order. One Gladiator forum thread reports that Mopar's hard tri-fold isn't offered for 2024 trucks with Trail Rail, so for newer trucks most of the choice is in aftermarket listings.

Do I need to drill to install a Gladiator tonneau cover?

No. All four picks use clamps on the bed rails.

Does every Gladiator have the same bed size?

Yes. Every cover listing we checked fits the Gladiator JT with one bed size, listed as 5 ft (60 inches). Rubicon, Mojave and other trims are not split by bed.

Hard folding or hard roll-up for a Gladiator?

A hard folding cover (MX4) stacks its panels against the cab. A hard roll-up (Revolver X4s) rolls into a cylinder at the front of the bed and opens the whole bed. If you regularly haul tall items or want full access without taking the cover off, the roll-up has the edge.

For most Gladiator owners we'd pick the BAKFlip MX4: one part number for both Trail Rail setups, an auto-latch and a 5-year warranty. On a budget, the Trifecta 2.0 has the clearest fitment listing of the soft covers. Shopping for a midsize rival instead? See the Tacoma guide or the Ford Ranger guide.
